Summertime in Greenville, SC, is a sight to behold. Small treats like ice cream and watermelon take on a new magic thanks to the hot sun, refreshing the soul with their sweetness. The days are long, and the nights are warm. And on such nights, new thrills are just around the corner, like home runs at the Greenville Drive and firework shows at Unity Park. Check out our list below for 20 summer suggestions to add to your ultimate bucket list in Greenville, SC.

  1. Visit Falls Park on the Reedy River. 
    • Take pictures at golden hour and end the night with dessert at Carmellas or Spill the Beans for a truly sweet evening. 
  2. Dine at award-winning restaurants. 
    • The French restaurant Scoundrel is the only Michelin star restaurant in Greenville, but The Anchorage, Jianna, and Soby’s have all been Michelin recommended.  
  3. Bike the Swamp Rabbit Trail. 
    • Unity Park is a great place to park; you can fuel up with a coffee beforehand at the Commons. Then, choose to head North toward Travelers Rest or South toward Cleveland Park. 
  4. Attend a Greenville Drive Baseball Game. 
    • Different days of the week have different promotions: Wednesday is White Claw Wednesday, Thursday is Dollar Drink Night, Friday is Friday Night Fireworks, and Saturday is Saturdays on the District, a family-friendly block party. 
  5. Attend a show at the Peace Center. 
    • In addition to many musical performances, two plays will be performing this summer: The Notebook and Spamalot.

    • This 4th of July, check out the fireworks at Unity Park, starting at 9:30pm. Simpsonville’s Freedom Blast is also a popular firework watching destination. 
  2. Tour art galleries at the Village of West Greenville. 
    • 150 businesses reside in this walkable village, including shops for retail, food, services, and art galleries. 
  3. Curl up with a good book at M. Judson’s Booksellers. 
    • Visit Camilla Kitchen for coffee and/or treats to snack on as you read. 
    • Additionally, check their social calendar online if you would like to join a book conversation or book centered event. 
  4. Enjoy live music and treats at Gather GVL. 
    • Greenville’s favorite food hall has a steady stream of live performers, so be sure to check their events calendar. 
  5. Dance at a Downtown Alive event. 
    • Come hear live bands play at NOMA Square on Main Street from 5:30-8:30pm every Thursday. 
  6. Walk the streets during a Main Street Friday.
    • In case you can’t make it to a Downtown Alive event, a Main Street Friday is also a great option. Come hear live music and sample delicious snacks at NOMA Square from 5:30pm- 8:30pm. 
  1. Explore local goods at a TD Saturday Market.
    • Saturday mornings on Main Street are hopping from 8am-12pm. Shop for fresh produce and local goods in a lively atmosphere. 
  2. Catch a free show during the Upstate Shakespeare Festival.
    •  This summer will feature A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Two Noble Kinsman at Falls Park. 
  3. Learn something new!
    • The Upcountry History Museum or The Children’s Museum of the Upstate are two great spots. 
  4. Relax at the Greenville Jazz Fest 2026. 
    • This free Jazz festival will run from 4-10pm in the heart of downtown. 
  5. Attend a unique show at the SC New Play Festival. 
    • See never-before-seen plays and musicals.
    • There are both free and ticketed shows, held in indoor/outdoor venues.
  1. Go swimming at Paris Mountain.
    • The swimming area is open for the summer at this State Park, located just 6 miles from downtown Greenville. 
  2. Visit the Roper Mountain Science Center. 
    • Their Summer Adventure experience is only $16 per person and is fun for the whole family. Experience the Science Center, Butterfly Garden, Historic Farm and Zoo, and more! 
    • They also have a planetarium with evening shows. 
  3. Watch a movie under the stars. 
    • Downtown Greenville’s Moonlight Movie series hosts a different movie shown outside at Falls Park every Thursday during the summer.
  4. End the night with rooftop drinks.
