Whether you’re visiting for the first time or have spent years in the Greenville area, The Local 5 Newsletter is your one stop destination to find out what you don’t want to miss this weekend in the Upstate.

Every Thursday, we will highlight our ‘top 5 musts’ that will include everything from restaurants, activities, parks, concerts and festivals that are all right here in beautiful Greenville, SC.

One

This weekend, City Scape Winery invites you to pull up a chair and unwind during their 5th Annual Fall Festival. Come out to enjoy live music from 9 bands, food and wine tasting from local food trucks, and even hot air balloon rides (Friday only). The festival will kick off with live music from Cody Gentry on Friday. Then, Doug McDonald and Kylie Odetta will be taking the stage on Saturday. Finally, Steven Galloway Sax and the Rhythm Jam Trio will be performing on Sunday. Shop from over 40 vendors every day. Seating may be limited, so it is a good idea to bring a backup chair or picnic blanket, just in case. Celebrate all things fall all weekend long!

Two

Established in 1997, The Cook’s Station is a staple of Greenville to anyone who has a passion for food. Locals shop for kitchenware, eat at the cafe, and attend affordable cooking classes here. This Saturday, The Cook’s Station is hosting a free Fall Festival with tent sales, food/wine tastings, and live music. This pop up event is running from 9-3pm. It will be a relaxed afternoon of quality conversations and chill vibes while walking the streets of Greenville. There’s something for everyone at the Station!

Three

Now that summer is behind us, and Fall is in the air, it’s time for Oktoberfest to shine. For 3 weekends in a row, from now until October 5th, head out to Saluda Lake Landing for themed eats & drinks, live music, and water rental discounts. Snack on Bratwurst, Currywurst, Paddle Dipper Pretzels, and/or their Munich Munch Burger. This free event is open to leashed pets, so no one has to be left behind. Relax this weekend at “Greenville’s Best Kept Secret.”

Four

This weekend, Greer is hosting one of its best signature events: Railfest. Railfest highlights Greer’s history as a railroad town by featuring trackless trains, model trains, train crafts, and more. Kids will enjoy the facepainting, balloons, and inflatables, too. This is a free community event that will run from 10am-2pm on Saturday, September 27th. All aboard!
