Every Thursday, we will highlight our ‘top 5 musts’ that will include everything from restaurants, activities, parks, concerts and festivals that are all right here in beautiful Greenville, SC.

One

History should be both informative and wildly entertaining. After all, who doesn’t love stories? That’s why Chautauqua’s History Comes Alive Festival is such a raving success every year. This year, hear from talented performers as they pay tribute to Albert Einstein, Lucille Ball, Josephine Baker, and Babe Ruth, telling their stories with animated gusto. Performances will be held inside during the day and outside during the evenings in Greenville, Spartanburg, and Brevard. Note: Please reserve your spots online for indoor shows, and bring your own lawn chair for outdoor shows. Check the link below for more detailed information regarding showtimes. Be on the lookout for Chautauqua’s essential question: Does the character’s image match the truth?

Two

For lovers of The Crucible and All My Sons comes a classic yet modern- feeling show: Enemy of the People. Join the Warehouse Theatre’s performance of Enemy of the People in Greenville, SC, from May 30th- June 15th. The play focuses on a small town doctor who uncovers a deadly secret, and for that, the mayor attempts to silence him. Here, not everything is as it seems, and the truth may be more than he bargained for. Tickets are $40 for the musical and $35 for the non-musical. Check it out!

Three

Make this Saturday extra bubbly during Greenville’s Mimosa Festival at CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park. Hosted by Greenville Wine Festivals, they’ve got everything you need to relax and unwind with friends or family. Enjoy bottomless mimosas, wine, beer, and more, in addition to live music and a silent disco! Tickets are $55 (if purchased online prior to the day) and $65 (if purchased on the day). The food, drink, and music lineups have yet to be released, so be sure to keep an eye on their facebook page for more details. The festival will be held from 4-8pm, because it's never too late in the day for a mimosa or too late in life to mix things up.

Four

If you’re looking for a truly unique musical experience, check out the Greenville Reggae Block Party at the Crescent One Innovation Center this weekend. From 5-9pm, the Legendary Mystic Vibrations will be jamming in an effort to bring the community together. Sample food from local food trucks and enjoy the good vibes! Parking is $5, and admission is $10 at the door (but only $5 if purchased online). Don’t worry; be happy, and rock on!

FIve

This Saturday, enjoy a free concert at Carolina Bauernhaus Greenville, featuring The Accuser, Marc Higgins and the Chainsaw Bears, Remedy 58, Crimson Moon, Cutthroat Suzy, and Creek. All voluntary donations of $10 will benefit Freedom Fences, a shelter for abused animals in the Upstate. While jamming out from 2-10pm, sample savory snacks and drinks from Carolina Bauernhaus, and try your luck at winning a raffle prize. Be in the moment with good company… for a great cause!
